Fiserv Inc. has created a new all-in-one point-of-sale system for full-service restaurants, Clover Station Solo.
Fiserv showed off its latest system, Station Solo, during an event at Fiserv Forum Monday. It’s part of a line of all-in-one devices that are designed specifically for restaurants.
The idea behind the system is to streamline front- and back-of-house operations through a single device. The Clover Station Solo can manage payments, in-person orders, employee schedules and online orders.
Fiserv, a Brookfield-based provider of payments and financial services technology solutions, owns Clover.
The company, which typically works behind the scenes to make payments happen, has added more customer-facing products through Clover.
“The Fiserv brand, we touch almost every household in the United States,” said Dan Bjerke, senior vice president of Clover Business Solutions. “In one form or fashion, we’re touching every household in the United States — moving money, interacting at a small business, bank or credit union that you’re working with.
Fiserv’s Clover is a business management platform for small businesses that allows customers to pay using a debit or credit card or through mobile payment options like Apple Pay and Google Pay. More than $140 billion in annualized payment volume is processed by Clover.
“Clover really is a great representation of what we do to focus on the community of small businesses across the nation and across the world,” Bjerke said. “The more that we can get our brand, and the name and that message out that’s really another facet of what we’re all about because the more people who know about it, the better off we’re all going to be because we can all raise all those communities.”
Fiserv with Clover plans to continue focusing on restaurants, said Sam Gimbel, senior director of product management at Fiserv.
“This is the first of many very specific tailored products to the different segments of merchants that we work with,” Gimbel said.
